Did you know an estimated 350,000 tonnes of clothes end up in landfill every year?

switching to recycling with Consciously platform can help you reduce your carbon footprint for each garment you buy.

Project Overview:

  • A leading organization engaged TheAppLabb's product and design teams to collaborate with the Consciously Team during the Discovery and Design phase.

  • Our goal was to create mobile designs, user experience flows, and a clickthrough prototype to help the Consciously App Team secure investor feedback and validate their project vision.

My Contributions:

  • Facilitated client workshops to align on business goals.

  • Conducted research to create personas, journey maps, and user stories, ensuring a deep understanding of user needs.

  • Designed wireframes with a strong focus on accessibility, delivering a clickable prototype that met all project requirements and resulted in a truly inclusive app.

How does consciously work?

Promoting circular economy

Consciously promotes a circular economy and aims to empower individuals to make conscious choices for a greener future.

Collaboration with sustainable fashion brands

Consciously collaborate with sustainable fashion brands that share their vision, ensuring that every item available on their app aligns with the highest ethical and ecological standards.

Each garment you buy comes with an incentive - exclusive assets
Bring it back to Consciously for recycling, and redeem the assets.

Each garment you buy from Consciously comes with an incentive - exclusive assets that hold inherent value. These assets can be digital tokens. Not only do you acquire high-quality, eco-friendly fashion items, but you also receive these incentives as a token of appreciation for your sustainable choices.

At the end of the garment's lifecycle, when you no longer need it, Consciously encourages you to bring it back to them for recycling. In exchange for your responsible action, you can redeem the assets you received during the initial purchase, thus unlocking further rewards and opportunities within our ecosystem.By returning your worn-out garments, you actively contribute to closing the loop of the fashion industry and minimizing waste.

How might we

create a user-friendly mobile app experience that encourages customers to purchase clothes from our platform and facilitates easy returns to Consciously for recycling, while also incentivizing users with rewards, thereby reducing fashion pollution?

User Types

CONSUMERS
BRANDS & PARTNERS

More than ever, it's vital for fashion brands to think more sustainably.

Brands will have a competitive advantage with the growing number of green-minded shoppers.

Brands have to make sure that their clothes last as long as possible and don't end up piling up in landfills.

Many people advocate for Slow Fashion and want to do something for the planet.

They are on a watch-out for sustainable brands that are affordable and incentivize their consumers

CONSCIOUSLY - ADMIN

Currently, there is no additional motivation or benefit for consumers to shop consciously or to be compensated for shopping in a sustainable fashion.

User Personas & Journey Maps

Based on the secondary research, I created 4 user personas and 2 journey maps representing the target audience.

Gen Z - Customer

A student at George Brown College who is a slow fashion advocate and also as an independent woman, she wants to grow financially and make an investment for the future.

Millennial - Customer

An Urban Planner, a father, a brand conscious person, an investor who believes that digital currency can be a valuable part of his investment portfolio.

Brands & Partners

In the early stages of a transformation toward a circular ecosystem. They plan to offer their guests new options to resell, repair, and/or recycle their products.

Consciously - Admin

To reduce clothes that needlessly end up in landfills by rewarding the consumer with an investment that can grow over time while they own the sustainable clothing.
